ACTIVITY DAY 9th September, 2007
with a lot of Gun Dog Scurries, which include Dummy Launch Retrieves, Water Retrieve, and Split Retrieve - Fastest Dog in the West... and a Companion Dog Show together with Dog Agility by Dog’s Body of Budleigh Salterton - Raffle - Drinks, Tea & Coffee, Sandwiches and cake.

SUNDAY, September 9th, 2007 at Ash Tree Farm, Northmostown Lane, Newton Poppleford off the A3052 - directions from M5 - Junction 30 - take A376 towards Exmouth - 3/4 mile Roundabout - head on the A3052 towards Seaton - in about 7 miles go thru Newton Poppleford - at the far end of the village (slowly) proceed over the River Otter - take next right at bottom of hill ahead - very narrow lane and follow the signs

PEDIGREE CLASSES - £1.00 PER DOG/CLASS - Dogs need not be registered at the Kennel Club, but must be of a pedigree breed. Dogs that have won a KC Challenge Certificate, Reserve C.C. - or Junior Warrant are not allowed to enter the Pedigree Classes.

There will be FOUR Scurries - a water retrieve across the lovely Otter river - a split retrieve - and a dummy launch retrieve. and a straw-bale rush with jumps & retrieve for the fastest dog in the west... ... Entries £1.00 a go -
Volunteers are requested to assist with the Dog Show Stewarding; and running the scurries and assisting ..... ........ If you are coming down, would you consider 2 hours on one of the scurry activities to help out - 1100 to 1300 - & 1300 to 1500 - - it would be appreciated as a well run show is nice to go to - if it’s disorganised it’s a disaster - please volunteer the times you would like to help to pointerman@lineone.net - thanks.

RETRIEVING ACTIVITY
THE FOUR RETRIEVING EXERCISES - £1.00 PER ATTEMPT
I am looking for individuals who will assist on the day - please email pointerman@lineone.net - the show must have helpers to make it work
2) ... SPLIT RETRIEVE - TWO DUMMIES THROWN AT 75 DEGREES - DOG RETRIEVES ONE, THEN THE OTHER - FASTEST DOG OF THE DAY RECEIVES A WINNERS ROSETTE, and a Winners Certificate AND 15kg Hills Science Diet for Dogs
We may put on a Pointing test for HPR’s - this is on live pheasants - and judged on Steadiness, game location and pointing.
(no pheasants will be harmed in this exercise)
ALL Retrieve Exercises are open to any dog ... Please keep ALL dogs on the lead unless competing - there will be sheep in the vicinity - pick up all dog mess, hair combings, and waste - put in the black plastic bags provided............TOP
