While living in the Highlands during the icy winter months, taking his puppy Chloe for walks were all to be desired. Every early morning hour, Chloe would wake me by licking my face until his walk outside would begin. Ice covered the ground during the cold winter. Half-awake I grab his regular lead and heads for the door. Stumbling to attach the lead to Chloe’s collar, they go outside. As Chloe smells the trees, I begin to slide across the ice. Then suddenly out of nowhere dashes a feral cat. Before I knew what is happening, I was spun to the ground crashing onto my shoulder - my, that hurt.... Chloe has chased the cat and is barking up the tree. I had dislocated my shoulder from the strong pull of his regular lead. There must be a better way to control the hooligan I thought... I had to investigate. A restraint system for his dog that would absorb the shock of a dogs sudden movement was just what the public needed!
